Shirshendu Mukherjee is a Hindustani classical vocalist based in Mississauga, Ontario, and the Guru and Director of the Riyaz Institute of Hindustani Music. A senior disciple of Padma

Bhushan Pt. Ajoy Chakrabarty, he is a Gold Medalist in Indian Classical Vocal and a graded

artist with All India Radio and Doordarshan. Originally from Kolkata, Shirshendu mentors

students in the Patiala-Kasur Gharana tradition and performs across Canada and internationally.

Through concerts, teaching, and cross-cultural collaborations, he promotes Indian classical music and fosters intergenerational learning, enriching Canada’s cultural landscape with the depth and beauty of this timeless art form.
