Deep Ganguly
From a very young age the Bansuri captured his imagination, learning from his father initially and then later on from other learned musicians. His learning started at an early age from his father Late Shri Bhabani Sankar. The turning point in his life came when he was accepted by his guru Late Pandit Malhar Rao Kulkarni, as a shisya and here it is he learned the gayaki ang, dhrupad and the various intricacies of the bansuri. The Maihar gharana has a special importance in Hindusthani music and is known for its beauty and rendering of music. He continues to learn with frequent trips to India, and hopes to continue to learn and try to make music more beautiful.
