Nritto Kala Kendra School and Dance Company

Nritto Kala Kendra School and Dance Company was officially established on September 20th, 2011 as a certified corporation. Its founder,  Biplob Kar is an outstanding dancer who has learned from under many respected teachers (including Pundit Birju Maharaj), and has earned multiple scholarships and  awards for his dedication to dance. He has had a passion for dance from quite an early age, and with his school and company, he hoped to pass on this passion to the other generations. To this day, he has done just that for countless students internationally, along with his lovely wife Dipshika, and will continue to do so for many more. Biplob Kar has also choreographed hundreds of dances as well as dance dramas, including the Shyama, Debi Ganga, Mohishashur Mordini, Pujarini, Nari and many more. Students at the school learn such dances and dramas, as well as multiple types of dance forms including  folk, modern and Kathak. Students also perform at various events for multiple organizations, abroad and in Canada. However, dancing and being able to perform are not the only things that come out of learning from Nritto Kala Kendra. One takes with them important moral values, increased self confidence, and a new zest for life. Dancing is an art, and art allows us to express ourselves and be free, if at least for just a moment. It inspires us to spread our wings and truly soar, and this is something Nritto Kala Kendra and dancing as an art allows people to do every day.
